True Lies About Me
In case you need a bio, here's one you can steal:
D.W. Gregory's plays frequently draw on her blue collar roots, exploring the disconnect between the dream and the reality of working class America. Her most produced play, Radium Girls, is about the watch dial painters poisoned on the job in 1920s New Jersey. Other plays include Molumby's Million, a comedy about the boxer Jack Dempsey; October 1962, a psychological suspense drama; the Good Daughter, an epic love story; and the Good Girl Is Gone, a black comedy about abandonment. She is also the author of several one-act plays and a series of works for youth. Her plays have been developed or presented at Theatre of the First Amendment, New Jersey Rep, Geva Theatre, the Lark, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, The Playwrights Center, The Young Vic, the New Harmony Project, Woolly Mammoth, and ShenanArts, among others.
In addition to writing plays, Ms. Gregory is a teaching artist and founding member of The Playwrights' Gymnasium, a process-oriented workshop in Washington, D.C. A member of the Dramatists Guild, she is also a member of the American Alliance for Theatre in Education and Theater for Young Audiences.
